Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups frozen blueberries preferably unsweetened
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice for tang and brightness
  • 5 fresh mint leaves mint leaves for aroma and flavor
  • ¼ cup cold water to help blend if needed
  • 2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup optional, for sweetness

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Add the frozen blueberries to the blender along with fresh mint leaves and honey or syrup if using.
  2. Squeeze in the fresh lemon juice to brighten the flavor and add a splash of cold water to assist blending.
  3. Blend the mixture on high speed, pulsing first to break down the berries, then until the mixture becomes thick, icy, and smooth—about 30 to 45 seconds. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides.
  4. Check the texture; if it’s too thick or chunky, add a little more cold water, then blend again until you reach a silky, slushie consistency.
  5. Pour the vibrant purple-blue slushie into glasses, letting the icy texture shine through.
  6. Garnish with extra mint leaves or a lemon wedge for a fresh presentation.

Notes

You can customize sweetness with more honey or syrup; adjust lemon to taste. For a thinner drink, add a splash more water. For a more intense blueberry flavor, add a handful of fresh blueberries before blending.
