Ingredients

  • 1 oz elderflower syrup fragrant and floral, adjust sweetness as desired
  • 2 oz tropical rum preferably white rum for smoothness
  • 1.5 oz fresh lemon juice adds bright citrus flavor
  • 1 cup ice cubes crushed or whole ice is fine

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Measure out the elderflower syrup, tropical rum, and fresh lemon juice, then add them to the blender.
  2. Toss in the ice cubes, filling the blender about three-quarters full for a frosty texture.
  3. Secure the lid on the blender, then blend on high until the mixture is smooth, bright, and icy—about 30 to 45 seconds. You should see a thick, slushy consistency, with the ice fully pulverized.
  4. Stop the blender and check the texture; if it’s too thick, add a splash of cold water or more lemon juice, then pulse briefly to combine.
  5. Pour the vibrant, aromatic slushie into chilled glasses, allowing the icy mixture to cascade over the rim.
  6. Garnish with a twist of lemon or a small sprig of mint for a fragrant finishing touch.

Notes

For an extra floral aroma, garnish with edible flowers or a splash of elderflower tonic. Adjust sweetness by adding more syrup or lemon to suit your taste.
