Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh herbs (cilantro or basil) packed
  • 4 shots tequila preferably blanco
  • 1 cup lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup or honey optional, for sweetness

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

  1. Measure out the fresh herbs, roughly chopping them if needed to release their aroma.
  2. Add the herbs, tequila, lime juice, and sweetener to the blender jar.
  3. Toss in the ice cubes, ensuring they fill the blender about halfway.
  4. Secure the lid and blend on high until the mixture is smooth and frosty, about 30-45 seconds, with tiny bits of herbs still visible but well incorporated.
  5. Stop the blender and check the texture — it should be thick, icy, and slightly slushy. If it’s too watery, add a few more ice cubes and blend again.
  6. Pour the slushie into chilled glasses, garnishing with a sprig of fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different herbs for unique flavors. For a sweeter twist, add more honey or simple syrup. Serve immediately for the best icy texture.
